Job Overview
Responsible for mechanical repair and maintenance of diesel and gasoline industrial trucks, and any other industrial machinery.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts regular on-site surveys of equipment to determine needed repairs. Troubleshoots and makes appropriate repairs, including fabrication and welding. Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment. May change tires, batteries and other parts. May also be responsible for Propane Tank testing to ensure that U.S. DOT specifications are being met.
Required Experience
2 - 3 years related experience with diesel and gasoline engines, and heavy equipment repair.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Access and Excel.
Required Education
High school diploma or GED required. Technical school preferred.
Working Conditions
Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
FLSA Status
The position is Non-Exempt. May require the ability to work overtime to meet required deadlines. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health.
